--------------------

THANK YOU!

Amy, Jenny, Michelle, Kyle, Alex, and Melissa would like to thank everyone for all of your hard work this year! We have truly enjoyed teaching and working with all of you! The recital will be your time to shine and show off all that you have learned this year. The student who has had the opportunity to perform has a unique advantage over those who haven’t. They can walk into many of life’s experiences better prepared to present themselves in a favorable light if they have already known the acceptance of a public audience. Having once heard the applause for one’s efforts provides the groundwork on which self-confidence is built. We, as educators and parents should make certain these same experiences are good ones!

Costume Helpers

Thank you to everyone who helped out with costume alterations for our dancers. We appreciate all of your help!

Prop Helpers

Thank you to the parents who helped with building, painting and setting up props for our competition lines.

RECITAL NEWS

Recital tickets
Ticket orders can be picked up at the studio the week of May 10th during classes and at the dress rehearsals. Any remaining tickets will be available for purchase at these times as well.

Dress Rehearsal
Please report to the auditorium 15 minutes before your scheduled time. Rehearsals are held at Eastview High School and NOT the studio.

RECITAL ETIQUETTE:

* NO VIDEO OR PHOTOS are allowed during the actual performances. You may take pictures and videos at the DRESS REHEARSAL ONLY! We ask that you be courteous of others who are trying to watch their children.

*Also, please enter or exit the auditorium BETWEEN routines and not during them. It is very distracting to our dancers as well as audience members to have people walking up the aisles and leaving with the doors slamming behind
them.

*We will have a company videotaping the recitals. Please stay seated as much as possible and only get up between routines. Remember if you stand up during a routine, your head will be in the video!

Costumes & Makeup

• Costumes must be worn to the dress rehearsal and recital.
• All costume and hair pieces must be attached so they will not come off during the performance.
• All undergarments must not show.
• Shoe bows must be tied around the elastic in the tap shoes (the same way you wore them for pictures)
• Makeup may be worn by all performers. Stage lighting is very strong and can make the dancer’s faces look washed out.

Flowers for Sale at Recitals

There will be single stem rose bouquets available for purchase at the recit-als. You may make your purchases before and after the recital, or during our intermission. Proceeds from this sale will help fund the new Dance Connection scholarship program.

Leprechaun Days Parade

Rosemount Leprechaun Days Parade. Please join us again this year to march in Rosemount’s Leprechaun Days parade on Saturday, July 31 at 11:00. If interested in participating, please check the website the beginning of July for all the details.

Dance Scholarships

The Dance Connection will be giving away one recreational (non-competitive) and competition class scholarship for the 2010-11 season. Students who wish to apply must have one year experience at the Dance Connection, show financial need and be a dedicated and passionate dancer. All applicants must fill out a form, which will be available during the last week of class and must be turned in by June 1.

We would like to keep this program going for years to come and in order to do that we will need donations from outside parties. If you or your company would like to make a donation please let us know. Any amount is helpful.

Toy Donations

We are looking for gently used toys for our lobby area to keep the little ones busy during their siblings classes. Please e-mail us if you have any-thing to donate.
