Recital costume information was handed out last week at parents’ week. If you have not received yours from your dancer please pick one up at the front desk or e-mail us and we can send one to you.
It is hard to believe it is that this is the last newsletter for the 2012-2013 dance season!
Melissa, Amy, Jenny, Michelle, Alex, Tammy and Shay would like to thank everyone for all of your hard work this year! We have truly enjoyed teaching and working with all of you! The recital will be your time to shine and show off all that you have learned this year. The student who has had the opportunity to perform has a unique advantage over those who haven’t. They can walk into many of life’s experiences better prepared to present themselves in a favorable light if they have already known the acceptance of a public audience. Having once heard the applause for one’s efforts provides the groundwork on which self-confidence is built. We, as educators and parents should make certain these same experiences are good ones!
Last Day of Regular Dance Class is June 5th
All remaining balances, including June tuition (1/2 the normal monthly amount) must be paid by June 5th in order to perform in the recital. The studio office hours are Monday-Thursday 4:30-8:00 pm. You can also call in and pay with a credit card. If you are already set up for automatic payment your fees will be deducted from your credit card this week.
Important Dress Rehearsal Information
Please report to the auditorium 15 minutes before your scheduled time. Rehearsals are held at Eastview High School and not the studio. The dress rehearsal schedule is available at the studio or online here. We do sometimes run ahead of schedule so please be on time! No photos or videos are allowed during the actual performances. You may take pictures and videos at the dress rehearsal only! We ask that you be courteous of others who are trying to watch their children.
Costumes & Makeup
Costumes must be worn to the dress rehearsal and recital. All costume and hairpieces must be attached so they will not come off during the performance. All undergarments must not show. Stage lighting is very strong and can make the dancer’s faces look washed out so wearing makeup is an option.
Pre-ordered recital tickets are available for pickup at the desk through June 5th, which is the last day of regular classes. They can also be purchased with cash or check only at all dress rehearsals and before each performance. Please be aware that the Sunday 1:00 pm recital is almost sold out.
Flowers for Sale
We will be selling flowers again this year during the recital. You may make your purchases before and after the recital, or during our intermission.
