amy shomshak - ballet program director
Instructing students in ballet for more than a decade, Amy was honored to receive her ballet and instructor training at the Kirov Academy in Russia.
During her career, Amy has had the opportunity to perform with the legendary Maya Plissetskaya of the Bolshoi Ballet, the Branitski Ballet, Ballet Arts Minnesota, American Ballet Theatre, Classical Ballet Academy, Andrew Rist of the Minnesota Dance Theatre, and the Minnesota Ballet Academy.
Ms. Shomshak has also appeared at several distinguished theatre companies throughout the Twin Cities, including the Guthrie Theatre, Actor's Theater of Minnesota, Theatre in the Round, Riverside Theatre and as a Choreographer at the Lakeshore Players.
Ms. Shomshak has also had published articles in Dance Teacher Magazine
Ballet Director, Amy Shomshak, has joined the faculty of the Exercise Science Department at Rasmussen College and is presenting courses in Exercise Physiology, Biomechanics, Fitness Theory, and Exercise for Special Populations. She also recently became a certified fitness trainer in Functional Movement Systems.
This season, Amy is teaching the following sessions:
- Intermediate, High Intermediate and Advanced Ballet classes on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
